In Morocco, the managing director of the national agency for land conservation, cadaster and cartography (ANCFCC), Karim Tajmouati, said during a board meeting that in 2016, “9% more land titles have been issued and a 25% increase in registered areas was recorded the same year, as compared to the year before”. This was reported in a statement released to this effect.
The statement also indicates that the meeting was presided by the minister of agriculture, fishery, sustainable development and water and forest resources, Aziz Akhannouch. Were also present Mohamed Aujjar, minister of justice, Abdellatif Loudiyi, deputy minister in charge of national defense’s administration, as well as various representatives from other ministries.
During the session, the officials discussed the land issue which is one of the country’s main concern. Indeed, King Mohammed VI, it may be recalled, previously urged the minister of justice to take all the necessary measures to curb and end land spoliation in the country, and deal with the “mafia” responsible for its thriving.
