Jean-François Vallet, European Union (EU)’s ambassador to Côte d’Ivoire, stated on the sidelines of the EU-Côte d’Ivoire cooperation days (from May 8 to 9, 2018), that the institution will support the country’s land tenure strategy. In fact, land conflicts are growing within the country, affecting land security.
“By getting involved in this issue, EU's objective is to facilitate the issuance of land titles because land issue is of great concern in Côte d’Ivoire. The approach is to, first, identify village domains and then contribute to reduce land title fees. We are committed to address the situation till completion,” he said as reported by L'Intelligent d'Abidjan.
Côte d'Ivoire-European Union Cooperation Days are part of Europe Week in Côte d'Ivoire which started last May 7 and will end next May 18.
