China and Sao Tomé & Principe concluded three financing and cooperation agreements (a $29 million donation included) for social projects, Patrice Trovoada (photo), Sao Tomé’s prime minister informed.
According to the official’s statements reported by Macauhub, the funds should help create a Confucius Institute in collaboration with Sao Tomé and Principe’s public university. They should also be channeled towards the construction of social housing and various road infrastructures.
Presenting the outcomes of his country’s participation at the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, Patrice Trovoada announced that Sao Tomé-et-Principe international airport’s redevelopment and the construction of a fishing port would be financed by China.
Let’s note that the new donation should be disbursed over the 2018-2019 period.
