On January 15, 2018, a day after he arrived in Libreville followed by a strong delegation of businessmen, Wang Yi, the Chinese Foreign minister, was granted an audience by Ali Bongo Ondimba, Gabonese president.
Even though this meeting has been an opportunity to review China-Gabon relations, it is obvious that it also falls in line with the parties’ determination to lift their relations further.
In addition, it also reflects good relations of friendship, successful cooperation and commitment for progress between both countries; relations which are based on their common history and the noble goals they share.
According to diplomatic sources, this visit of the Chinese delegation is part of its tour in Africa which began last weekend in Rwanda. It is also the preparatory stage of the next China-Africa cooperation forum scheduled to be held in a few months.
Let’s note that China and Gabon established their diplomatic relations in 1974 and, these relations are based on mutual respect and dynamic cooperation in economy and politics.
