The French Development Agency (AFD) could grant Benin Republic €115 million ($135.5 million) to support the country’s development. Véronique Brumeaux (photo), France’s ambassador to Benin, announced on May 15 , 2018, in Cotonou.
According to information relayed by Xinhua, the amount will be used to implement 2018 government development strategies. Under this plan, the country has already benefited from €16.2 million ($19.1 million) earlier.
Let’s note that since 2014, AFD annually commits an average amount of €66 million ($77 million) to Benin. The latter which is set to achieve a 6% economic growth in 2018 according to World Bank, started for two years now a battery of reforms as part of the government actions program (PAG). This should help boost the economy by 2021.
