The Ivorian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marcel Amon Tanoh, and the Ambassador of China, Wan Li, signed two (02) Financing Agreements on 17 October in Abidjan.
Valued at a total of 157.9 billion CFA francs (about $266 million), the agreements aim to support and develop the health sector through the third phase of technical assistance at the Gagnoa General Hospital. But also, the project will finance the construction of drinking water facilities in 12 cities in the country. Focus cities include Daloa, Bouaflé, Touba, Odienné, Boundiali, Séguéla, Mankono, Sassandra, Grand-Lahou, Divo, Tanda and the surrounding areas.
For the Chinese official, the support is part of his country’s ambition to support Côte d'Ivoire in addressing clean water issues for 3 million people.
