On March 19, 2018, the 19th land and poverty conference was launched at the headquarters of World Bank in Washington-DC. Placed under the theme “Land Governance in an Interconnected World”, the aim of this conference which should end on March 23, is to “present the latest research and practice on the diversity of reforms, interventions, and innovations in the land sector around the world”. It represents an important event during which talks should be engaged to address the challenges of land governance.
“The conference has become one of the largest international events on land governance, attracting over 1,300 participants in 2017 from governments, academics, civil society and the private sector,” indicated the statement issued to this purpose.
According to Agence d’Information d’Afrique centrale “ the strengthening of laws and governance, place of women in land management, collection and processing of data on land issues, urban transformation, property rights, fairness in land distribution will all be discussed during this conference”.
