Visiting the Biskra wilaya, in the Central Eastern part of Algeria, the minister of tourism and craftsmanship, Hassan Mermouri (picture), has announced that all hotel developers that fail to valorize lands they were awarded for projects, will be expropriated. This was reported by Algérie Presse Service (APS).
“Delayed projects will be taken care of and measures will be taken to facilitate their kick-start, only if reasons for the delays are objective. Those who have kept lands in their possession for years without developing their projects will be expropriated,” the minister said.
He added that out the 1,844 projects that his office approved, 936 are on stand-by and this impairs the country’s tourism attractiveness.
