World Bank will provide $60 million to help finance Guinea’s 2018 budget, a release published last week by the country’s economy and finance ministry reveals.
According to the release, this budget support is subsequent to the reforms initiated by Guinea to improve its economic and financial health. Aimed at facilitating the country’s economic and social development plan, the fund provided will help promote investments and stimulate growth in the agriculture sector, improve energy coverage as well as improve the delivery of public services.
Mamadi Camara (photo), Guinea’s finance minister, indicated that other budget supports are underway before adding that those supports would help boost key sectors for inclusive growth.
Let’s note that IMF forecasts Guinea’s economy to grow by 5.8% in 2018.
