Senegal to organize a land governance workshop next March 27-28

On March 27-28, 2018, the fourth national workshop on Land governance will be organized in Dakar. It will be organised by the Steering Committee of the Voluntary Guidelines and Land Governance (COPIL / DVGF), co-chaired by the Senegalese ministry of agriculture and rural equipment and the national council for consultation and rural cooperation (CNCR), in collaboration with the agricultural and rural prospective initiative (IPAR) and the United Nations food and agriculture organization (FAO).

 Placed under the theme: ‘From local practices to public policies: return of evidences and experiences of local land governance’, the workshop aims to foster “a sharing of knowledge produced by the members of the project’s steering committee, the strengthening of the voluntary guidelines’ dissemination and operationalization in Senegal, supported by the Italian Cooperation,” Dr. Cheikh Oumar BA (photo ), IPAR’s Executive Director, said in a letter sent to Ecofin Agency .

 He also indicated that during the workshop, they would seek ways to strengthen the steering committee with the support of the International Land Coalition (ILC) and other partners. Let’s note that this event will be presided by the Senegalese Minister of Agriculture and Rural Equipment, Dr. Papa Abdoulaye SECK.
