In Tunisia, the digital map of public lands and infrastructures is now publicly available. This was announced by the Tunisian minister of State domains and land affairs, Mabrouk Korchid (photo), during a press conference.
“Individuals and communities concerned by the services of the ministry of State domains and land affairs, can now be updated about the State’s land thanks to a digital map, and follow expertise services related to sale and commercial contracts as well as concessions on a special website of the Ministry,” he said according to statements reported by Huffpost Maghreb.
The official also indicated that this new instrument should further ease access to land services for population and optimize land management in the country.
“The digital map help delimit, protect, control, and ensure a good governance of the land domain. Everyone can consult it and use it in economic transactions. Expertise request services can also use it through the electronic site of the ministry. But this service requires a code access obtained from the ministry,” he underlined.
Nearly 40, 000 hectares of public lands are already identified on this digital map. Major projects, such as roads and dams are next.
