Federal Republic of Germany provided Mali with a €53 million (about CFA34.7 billion) donation to implement various projects for clean water supply and irrigation.
These projects include improving clean water supply system in Tombouctou city and the program for clean water supply and sanitation measures in semi-urban and rural centers of Mopti, Koulikoro and Kayes (PAEPMA).
The grant will also contribute to support the national proximity irrigation program in Gao region, as well as in Tombouctou and Mopti.
This financial support is in line with the continuation of common cooperation programs, governed by the technical and economic collaboration agreement concluded between both countries on 11 October 1997.
Furthermore, there are about 100 projects and initiatives led by the German cooperation currently underway in Mali, for a total amount of about CFA282 billion (about €430 million).
