In Congo, the new minister of land affairs and State domains, Pierre Mabiala (photo), announced on August 28 upon taking office in Brazzaville that “he will go after all those occupying public lands anarchically”.
“Land and State domains management must be better handled as this would help diversify the economy. It must be done regularly and efficiently. We will do so to deal with anarchic occupations of lands in our country,” said the official cited by the Agence d’information d’Afrique centrale.
“In terms of cooperation, Turkey said it wishes to train Congolese experts on land registry, cadastre, IT, mapping, land and technical infrastructures. Moreover, draft agreements were signed with countries like Senegal, Cote d’Ivoire and Turkey,” the press agency indicated.
