(Ecofin Agency) - There is a new competitor on the Tunisian telecommunications market. This is Mobile Virtual Network Operator Lyca Mobile. This newcomer will use the physical network of the national telecom operator Tunisie Telecom to offer its services to the public throughout the country. Lyca Mobile will also open its own stores in the country to give consumers access to various client services.
According to the Tunisian THD information site, the telecom company Lyca Mobile is currently engaged in the technical tests of its network. Then, it will present a catalogue of offers based essentially on voice and data. The operator will emphasise international communications at a relatively low cost, the specificity which has always differentiated it throughout the world. The telephone numbers to be used by Lyca Mobile will start with the number 43.
Lyca Mobile, based in the UK, is a subsidiary of the Portuguese group Hasting Trading e Serviços Lda, located in Madeira in Portugal. Present now in 19 countries, the company is not the first MVNO in Tunisia. There was Elissa, before it, which also uses the physical network of Tunisie Telecom and which depends on the enterprise for everything concerning offers and client services.
