Infervision Technology Coroporation, a Chinese company specializing in AI-based tech solutions, plans to build a National Artificial Intelligence Infrastructure in Ethiopia. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed in this regard on November 29 in Addis Ababa between the Ethiopian Minister of Innovation and Technology, Sisay Tola and Chen Kuan, CEO of the Chinese firm.
This new partnership reflects the government’s ambition to make the ICT sector a socio-economic development driver. The country also wants to increase technological capacities of its education, health care and medical services.
The Ethiopian government, which has been engaged since mid-2018 in a profound political transformation with a strong socio-economic impact, is aiming at becoming a reference of success in Africa through the use of technologies such as broadband Internet, AI, Blockchain, and Internet of Things.
