Northern Africa OTF (Operations Transformation Forum) 2025 was successfully held by Huawei during the Mobile World Congress 2025 in Barcelona, encircling the theme of " Empowering African Digital Intelligence Transformation ", the event brought together over 100 executives from delegates of government, operators and industrial organizations in the region. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on digital and intelligent transformation concepts in the context of the global AI wave and shared valuable practical experiences.
During the forum, Huawei unveiled xCare 3.0, marking the beginning of a new era of comprehensive intelligent operations designed to enable new growth.
Bruce Xun, President of Huawei Global Technical Service Department, highlighted Northern Africa operators' transformation practices, emphasizing turning new technologies into tangible business value. He identified AI as a tipping point, stressing the need for human-AI collaboration, real-time data awareness, and high-quality Chain of Thought (CoT) corpus to seize opportunities. He adds that operators must move from siloed data to converged data and "digital twins," while leveraging extensive experience and high-quality corpus to train AI into "Telecom expert models." This approach enables intelligent operations, enhances decision-making, and unlocks new value streams, paving the way for innovative and efficient telecom solutions in the digital era.
Hicham Ennoure, vCEO of Moov Money Gabon, highlighted the success of accelerating mobile money services in a competitive market. He stated that rapid platform modernization and precise marketing based on converged data are the keys to Moov Money's 84% user growth and 85% revenue growth in 2024.
Lassaad Ben Dhiab, Chairman & CEO of Tunisie Telecom, stated that as a state-owned enterprise in Tunisia, TT recognizes that the era of data-driven operations has arrived. He emphasized that TT will continue to advance its 5G and home broadband strategy by building intelligent infrastructure and collaborating with digital platforms, aiming to become the foundational digital ICT backbone for the nation.
Moussa YARO, CTO of Orange Mali, highlighted that OML’s digital transformation strategy focuses on Business & Network Synergy Operations. He stated that data-powered digital operation transformation, achieved through business and network synergy, will accelerate user and traffic growth, boosting revenue and solidifying Orange Mali's leadership in the market.
Kam-Shing Fung, Vice President of Digital Operations Transformation at HKT, shared insights into HKT’s digital transformation journey toward autonomous network operations. Driven by digital intelligent operations, this transformation aims to enhance business success. He emphasized that building a Digital Native Organization is critical to thriving in today’s digital intelligence-driven ICT environment.
Guy Lupo, EVP AI & Data Innovation of TM Forum noted in his speech, as the pioneering association spearheading AI and data innovation, the TM Forum is forging a collaborative space to innovate and co-create the industry's path to success. Communication Service Providers (CSPs) are encouraged to transition to AI-native operating models, leveraging AI to improve operational efficiency, enhance customer experiences, and drive business success.
Jim Liu, President of Huawei Northern Africa Carrier Business, shared his insights on the future of digital intelligent transformation, pointed out that digital and intelligent transformation is not just a goal but a means to solve critical challenges and unlock benefits. He celebrated the achievements of the Digital Operations Transformation Pioneer Club members and invited more stakeholders to join, collaborating towards a new era of comprehensive digital intelligence EM2.0.
MWC Barcelona 2025 is held from March 3 to March 6 in Barcelona, Spain. During the event, Huawei will showcase its latest products and solutions at stand 1H50 in Fira Gran Via Hall 1. In 2025, commercial 5G-Advanced deployment will accelerate, and AI will help carriers reshape business, infrastructure, and O&M.
