Since last October 6th, users of Orange Cameroon are experience a very bad internet connectivity. First, there was an issue about access to data network that whole day then when the issue was finally fixed, the quality of the service was bad, and this persisted.
In a statement from Cameroon Telecommunications (Camtel) released on September 26, 2017, the issues faced by Orange’s users are explained.
Indeed, in its letter, the telecom operator was issuing an ultimatum demanding Orange to settle a debt of 1.6 billion CFA francs by October 5th, 2017. The amount was for the usage of fiber optic capacities put at Orange’s disposal, capacities which the latter had requested on November 23, 2016.
In its letter, Camtel noted that in the event Orange fails to make the demanded payment on the set deadline, “it would cancel all its obligations with Orange and would not be held responsible for any resulting inconvenience, and have the right to initiate a legal procedure against the operator”.
