Guinea plans to invest 22,969,211 US dollars in its IT and telecom sector in 2019

In 2019, Guinea’s ministry of post and telecommunication and digital economy will dedicate its investments to seven branches including the IT blueprint, a second submarine optical fibre cable and a data centre.  

According to the minister Moustapha Mamy Diaby (photo), who was speaking to deputies on December 12, 2018, to present the budget of his ministerial department for 2019, in 2019, the investments planned by this department is 208,360,600,000 Guinean francs (22,969,211 US dollars) for these works, representing 92.03% of its 2019 budget, which is 226,404,339,000 Guinean francs (24,958,313 US dollars).

This budget has substantially increased compared to the 36,248,842,683 Guinean francs (3,995,992 US dollars) for 2018. 

Guinea aims to boost its digital transformation to dynamize its economy and governance by 2020 with those investments.
