Chad’s minister of posts, ICT and communication, Ndolénodji Alixe Naimbaye (photo), nominated by a presidential decree on June 18, 2018, has been removed from her position via a decree signed by the country’s president Idriss Deby. Her eviction comes about two months after the government reshuffle of November 9, 2018.

According to sources cited by the AFP, the president’s action is the result of a conflict between Ndolénodji Alixe Naimbaye and some acquaintances of the president’s family who are responsible for institutions under the aegis of the post, ICT and communication ministry. In conflict with those members for two months now, the minister has decided to show her authority by suspending them. She is now paying for her foolhardiness.

Oumar Yaya Hissein, the communication minister and government’s spokesperson will be the interim minister of posts, ICT and communication before a new minister is nominated to replace her.

Ndolénodji Alixe Naimbaye, the now ex-minister of posts, ICT and telecommunication, joined the government one and a half months after her nomination on May 7, 2018, at the secretary of states for foreign affairs, African integration, international cooperation and the diaspora. She is the third telecom minister that the head of state is replacing since 2016.
