Tunisia: Moez Chakchouk, CEO of the Post Office announces big projects for the sector by end 2015

Wednesday, 14 October 2015 16:41

On the fringes of the World Post Day which was celebrated on 9 October 2015, Moez Chakchouk, CEO of the Tunisia Post Office, revealed big changes scheduled for this sector by end 2015. First of all, approximately 120 post office branches will be linked to internet through optic fibre. The subscribers to the post office will then be able to access many services on internet such as package updates, buying stamps online, etc.

In addition to the increase in the number of branches with ATMs, from 15% to 50%, Moez Chakchouk also announced a strengthening of the Post Office windows and office services.

The Post Office's aim is to have a counter for every 3,000 clients and a branch for every 7,000 clients instead of every 10,000. New services such as mobile payment or e-retail will also be strengthened. The Post Office has already renewed its partnerships on these markets with telecom operators Ooredoo, Orange and France Telecom. "The Tunisian Post Office has all the competencies and experience required for e-trade, in addition to the logistical tools to meet the needs of the Tunisian market in the sector", Moez Chakchouk argued.
