The Cameroonian ministry of Trade and national telecom operator, Camtel, have just signed a partnership agreement, in order to collaborate on the running of the Cameroon agro-pastoral portal (Camagro), launched a few months ago by Camtel. Thanks to Camagro, consumers and traders will be able to compare the price of foodstuffs available on the market, in order to make better choices when buying or selling.
All the prices will be made available to the Camtel team in charge of running the platform, by the ministry of Trade units. Indeed, this ministry department has a database which is updated from time to time, thanks to data collected on a regular basis by its relevant units spread throughout the country.
According to the managers of Camtel, in the zones without internet access to connect to the platform, a mobile text message system will enable the receipt of information on prices and products available in the different markets in Cameroon.
