Ethiopian state telecom provider Ethio-Telecom, in its 126 years of existence is increasing it pace by advancing its mobile services nationwide. This great move was boosted with the collaboration of global leading ICT infrastructure and smart devices provider, Huawei in the 4G LTE launching.
The 4G LTE advanced mobile service was launched on April 8th in the East East Region of Ethiopia precisely Jigjiga, Qabridahar, Godey, Fiiq and Iyo wardheer towns.
“It opens a new chapter and brings an immediate impact on congested areas of telecom service. Our delivery teams worked day and night to meet the target. Regardless of all the challenges, we are proud and over joyed to bring you the best LTE advanced service.” Said Frehiwot Tamiru, CEO of Ethio telecom.
With the aspirations to become a preferred telecom operator among customers and partners in Ethiopia, Ethio Telecom aims for a better service quality, accessibility, and service expansion notably in Addis Ababa and other regions during the fiscal year 2020/2021.
However, Ethiopia’s doors are open for private domestic and foreign investment with South Africa’s MTN Group, Vodacom Group giving in interest. The presence of these companies will definitely strengthen the telecom sector and speed up more its expansion plans to remote areas.
