Joao Lourenço (photo), Angola’s president, cancelled the international call for tenders that led to the attribution of a telecom licence to Telstar on April 12, 2019.
According to the president, Telstar did not comply with some procedures of the operation. This licence was the fourth in the Angolan telecom market and, it was a unified license.
Joao Lourenço also ordered the launch of a new call for tender whose submission package will be published within 30 days. He calls for more rigor to ensure a fair and transparent process for all the potential candidates.
