Nigerian fiber optic operator, MainOne, has commissioned a new Point of Presence in Tema, Ghana. The new infrastructure will serve Tema and its surroundings and provide enterprises excellent services.
For Kazeem Oladepo (picture), MainOne’s business executive for West Africa, the new telecoms infrastructure is an opportunity for Tema’s small, medium and large enterprises. “We are investing significantly in the distribution of our capacity within Tema, a major business district of Ghana, where demand for connectivity and other value added services is growing. Our plan is to continue to invest in infrastructure that will enable us extend our reliable connectivity and rich array of value added services across other areas in Ghana,” said Oladepo.
MainOne’s new POP in Tema is the second telecom infrastructure that the internet services provider deploys in the city. Last August, the firm built a fiber optic infrastructure for the Blu Telecoms and Surfline data centres. It then promised to expand the reach of fiber optic in the city, to support the growth of enterprises.
