Congo: OFIS’ CEO, Emmanuel Zanghieri, praises Wi-fi Yattoo zone with the ministry of telecommunication

Friday, 22 December 2017 17:00

Emmanuel Zanghieri, CEO of Internet provider OFIS, has presented Yatto Zone project, already active in Pointe-Noire, Brazzaville, to Léon Juste Ibombo, Congo’s minister of posts, telecommunications and digital economy. This was during a meeting with the leader of Congo’s ICT and telecommunication sector on December 19, 2017, in Brazzaville.

During the meeting, Emmanuel Zanghieri presented Yattoo Zone, a community Wi-fi solution, as a solution which can be implemented in public places such as hospitals, universities and schools, an “economic and affordable” solution recommended to facilitate internet access for the great majority.

Through this presentation, it seems that Emmanuel Zanghieri mainly wanted to express his will to extend the service to some other towns in the country.

OFIS bets on Wi-fi, the solution increasingly popular with large groups such as Google, Facebook, to allow the great majority to access digital services which can improve their social conditions. Wi-fi will also allows the group to increase its revenues.
