Bénin Telecom gets a new beginning with a new name: be.Télécoms

Friday, 23 October 2015 16:20

The historical telecommunications operator, known as Bénin Telecom, operated a transformation on 14th October 2015. The name under which the state company accumulated many complaints and much discontent from consumers due to the bad quality of service was abandoned for a new name. Bénin Telecom has thus become be.Télécoms. A new beginning the management of the company wants full of promises.

According to the explanations of Médéa César Dégbé, General Manager of be.Télécoms, this new branding is mainly meant to reconquer clients who throughout the years have consciously or unconsciously associated the old name of the company with a service of poor quality. “We are urging the general public to claim back this company, which is part of our national heritage and, through the use of our products, continue this long tradition which we have every intention of maintaining”, he stressed.

Specialised in the marketing of landline and mobile telecommunications services, internet and others, Bénin Telecom is at a turning point for its future. The state who cannot keep on bearing indefinitely on its own the expenses of this company is considering opening its capital to investors, local as well as foreign. But no business-minded person would want to sink in money in a company with a bad reputation. Restoring the image of the historical operator with its customers through a new beginning, even if this starts with a change of name, appears as a strategy to erase the failures of the past and promote its future potential.
