On the first day of the Aitex 2016 event held in Morocco this week, Cote d’Ivoire has signed with Morocco a deal for a techno-centre similar to the kingdom’s Technopark. The contract was signed by important figures and representatives of both governments.
“The objective here is to build a duplicate in Cote d’Ivoire and have techno-centres in Abidjan’s major settlements. This in order to allow the youth to innovate, and have infrastructures that will enable them develop solutions, start businesses, their start-up,” said Chief Executive of Gotic Cote d’Ivoire, Patrick M’Bengue.
According to Marcellin Zinsou, deputy chief executive of the Global Confederation of Ivoirian Companies, the project will, as it did in Morocco, help generate new jobs and reduce youth unemployment.
Morocco’s Technopark regroups tech and renewable energy focused companies. It was commissioned in 200 by Sing Mohammed VI and opened in 2001.
