Ghana: MTN says it is ready to deploy 4G

Wednesday, 25 November 2015 11:37

Meeting with the press, MTN Ghana’s CEO, Ebenezer Twum Asante, affirmed the firm was ready and set to deploy 4G. MTN believes this technology is best solution to meeting the growing demands of consumers who have now saturated 2G and 3G.

MTN Ghana is one of the four telecom companies to have bid during the auctions for the 800 MHz frequency spectrum, launched by Ghana’s National Communication Authority (NCA). Ebenezer Twum Asante says that the frequency will help MTN provide its customers a better experience. “Be it at the individual or corporate level, connectivity is accessed through various kinds of devices. This important data consumption requires greater network capacities to satisfy customers’ needs,” says MTN Ghana’s CEO.

Currently, MTN Ghana has already installed fiber optic in various sites, in various towns. If the 800 MHz frequency spectrum is awarded the firm for 4G commercialization, MTN affirms it will not delay to make the technology available to all.
