South Africa: Paratus acquires telecom capacity on AMOS-17 satellite
Friday, 27 November 2020 16:59

The South African branch of Paratus Telecommunications, a company specializing in the provision of satellite services, acquired telecom capacity on the AMOS-17 satellite, which provides broadband (HTS) in the C band and the Ka and Ku bands.

Paratus South Africa's access to AMOS-17's capacity was made through a contract signed recently with Spacecom, the Israeli satellite communications operator. This agreement follows that signed in September with the French satellite operator Eutelsat to secure additional telecom capacity that will enable it to meet, effectively, the growing needs for quality telecom services in South Africa.

Kallie Carlsen, Managing Director of Paratus South Africa, explained that the additional capacity acquired will enable the company to offer a wide variety of users, from remote areas to maritime and aviation markets, cost-effective and ubiquitous telecom coverage, and reliable connectivity.
