As part of its mission to always bring innovations and good products to satisfy its customers, local telecommunication company Airtel Seychelles has now introduced the home broadband service on the local market.
The new service was officially launched by the company’s commercial manager Heritiana Randrianarison during a ceremony yesterday at the company’s headquarters at Providence, in the presence of Amadou Dina, Airtel’s managing director, the principal secretary for information communication technology Benjamin Choppy, among other guests.
The wireless broadband is supplied through the mobile telephone network, meaning it is available to quite a large area.
Since a telephone or fixed line is not needed, then connecting your internet service is much easier as no technician or costly telephone line connections are needed.
Addressing those present, Mr Dina said the new service is another big achievement for Airtel as it is not only the latest technology, but also value for money.
He added that the company has also invested heavily towards the new service which he said provides packages to fit different budgets.
Mr Dina further added that Airtel remains committed in upgrading its service, bringing more options to its customers.
He also thanked all the Airtel staff who worked night and day to ensure that the project is realised.
For basic home internet user, the Nomad package gives 20 Gigabytes of data for only R449, while for homes using internet mainly for entertainment, the ‘Lwazir’ package provides 30 Gigabytes of data for R649, giving the possibility to download one full high definition movie per day. As for homes with several internet users, the Ace package is recommended. It comes with 60 Gigabytes of data for R999. The Champ package which provides 100 Gigabytes is recommended for homes with several and ‘heavy’ internet users. It is being offered at R1,499.
All the packages come with a free router.
The new service has been described as the most convenient and affordable home broadband package which addresses the connectivity needs of all types of home.
Its main benefit is that it requires no hassle of installation, or any fibre pulling to the houses, while the speed is as per 4G standard, since Airtel Seychelles network is fully 4G.
