(ORYX ENERGIES) - Oryx Energies has been awarded a multi-site triple certification, ISO 9001: 2015 (Quality), ISO 14001: 2015 (Environment) and OHSAS 18001: 2007 (Health and Safety), in recognition of the efficiency of its processes and its management system. This makes it the first oil products company to receive a multi-site triple certification for all its activities.

The certification, awarded by SGS (Société Générale de Surveillance S.A.) in the form of an “integrated” certificate, applies to the company’s activities in both trading and downstream, conducted at its headquarters in Geneva and at the main operational sites of its seven most important subsidiaries (Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, South Africa, Spain/Las Palmas, Tanzania, Togo). “Achieving global standards in quality, environment, health and safety is a key part of our commitment to make Oryx Energies one of the most recognised and reliable independent energy platforms in sub-Saharan Africa,” underlined Jean Claude Gandur, founder and Chairman of AOG, and the instigator of Oryx Energies’ ambitious development plans.

The certification is the result of a five-year project started in 2012. It has seen the design and implementation of a global, integrated management system, supported by the leadership in Geneva and subsidiaries, together with a strengthened HSSEQ (Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Quality) team. Procedures and processes have been deployed, internal expertise has been strengthened and systematic monitoring and follow-up applied.
