The European Union (EU) officially delivered a fleet of 40 vehicles to the Armed Forces of Côte d'Ivoire (FACI) on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. The move aims to sharpen the military's operational readiness against terrorist threats while enhancing civilian protection in sensitive regions.
The delivery consists of 34 troop carriers, three double-cab pickups, and three Iveco tow trucks. While accepting the donation, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Téné Birahima Ouattara expressed his gratitude and emphasized that the FACI is committed to the disciplined and effective use of these new assets.
