Zambian tech-enabled agricultural startup Good Nature Agro announced it has raised $2.1 million in a Series A funding to support nearly 15,000 farmers across the country. The operation was led by Dutch firm Goodwell Investments with the participation of Global Partnerships and FINCA Ventures.
Good Nature Agro's support will take the form of loans, provision of inputs, technical assistance, and networking of processing companies and investors interested in crops. The company led by Carl Jensen hopes to enter a new phase in its development cycle.
“We are excited that our investment will support the next phase of the company’s growth, and we look forward to working with the team on this journey,” said Mercy Zulu, Investment Associate of Goodwell Investments.
Agriculture represents about 7% of Zambia’s GDP and is the major source of income for people living in rural areas.
