The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) will lend Senegal, Cote d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Niger and Mauritania, a total of $575.2 million to support development projects in each of these countries. The news was reported by l’Agence de presse africaine (APA).
Senegal will receive $378.6 million for a regional project to connect the Dakar train to the airport and for its poverty reduction program. Cote d’Ivoire will receive $89 million to support efforts made in terms of boost access to water and sanitize Abidjan.
Cameroon will receive $59.8 million for two projects, the first related to rural development in the Chari district and the second to blood transfusion. $30 million will be awarded to Niger to build the Kandadji dam. And finally, Mauritania will get $17.8 million to develop a national cardiology centre.
