The Caisse Nationale d’Assurance Maladie et de Garantie Sociale (CNAMGS - National Health Insurance and Social Security Fund) assessed in this month of October 2015 its situation since 2011. CNAMGS informs that it has 905,431 persons insured, as at 1st October 2015 (out of a total population of 1.6 million).
In the health sector, CNAMGS celebrates the commissioning of the Libreville Oncology Institute in February 2014. It notes that since March 2013, there has been an increase of 150% in family allowances and 450,000 Gabonese children were vaccinated thanks to the national measles immunisation campaigns.
CNAMGS has been covering medical charges related to pregnancy since July 2012. During this same year, the Ministry of Health undertook the refurbishment of the general emergency and paediatric services and the opening of a new surgery block in the Libreville University Hospital. Finally, since 8th June 2011, CNAMGS covers the charges for students.
