Tradehold, an investment firm own by the South African billionaire Christo Wiese offered on February 17, to buy a majority stake in Zambia’s leading real estate developer, Real Estate Investments Zambia (Reiz).
Tradehold Africa, Tradehold’s subsidiary focused on the sub Saharan African region, in this framework, partnered with the Zambian investment firm African Property Investments Ltd (Apil) to present an offer of 4.20 kwachas per Reiz’s share at the condition that the Lusaka Stock Exchange-listed company agrees to sell at least 51% of its capital.
Reiz develops commercial, residential and retail property in Zambia. The firm, who has as shareholders Barclays, Blue Financial Services, Deloitte & Touche, Ericsson, First National Bank and Spar Zambia, currently owns more than 50,000m² of prime property in Lusaka.
