The 14th edition of the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) opens today in the Agondjé stadium in Libreville, with the ministers and Trade experts pre-forum.
Based on the official program, this event will be launched on Wednesday 26 August 2015 by the head of state Ali Bongo Ondimba who will give a speech. The Office of the President of the Republic of Gabon announces that the forum will host over 200 Gabonese and African artisans who will exhibit their works (pottery, paintings, jewellery, cosmetic products …) for a full week at the cultural village.
This Wednesday, there will be, amongst major discussions, exchanges on capitalising on the 15 years of the AGOA partnership and the reinforcement of the cooperation between the USA and sub-Saharan Africa in terms of trade and investments. The objectives are to elicit a better reciprocity between the two actors and to promote the economic diversification and the involvement of Africa in the international trade system.
The theme for this 14th edition is: “AGOA at 15: Charting a course for a sustainable US-Africa Trade and Investment Partnership”.
