Tunisair announced, in a press note released on 24 August, having taken delivery of a new Airbus A 330-200. The new aircraft is a long haul bi-reactor with larger “lie Flat” type seats.
Christened Sidi Bou Said, from the name of “the emblematic village jewel of Arab and Andalusian architecture in the suburb of Paris”, the new airplane will enable all passengers to have their individual video screen, latest generation entertainment system and WiFi connection.
This is the eighth aircraft purchased by Tunisair as part of its fleet modernisation plan launched in 2008, carried out through a purchase order for 13 aircrafts (ten A320 and three A330), the third A330 being expected in 2018 and the remaining narrow-body by 2019. The first A330-200 reached its base on 9 June.
