Indian car manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra has commissioned on May 27, a business center in Nairobi, Kenya, in order to better serve East and Central Africa.
The center will serve as distribution canal for the group’s products, including agricultural equipment, utility vehicles, private cars, power generators and equipment used in the agro-industry. “Our new center is an investment which will allow, not only to improve our customers’ experience by focusing on their ever growing needs, but also to help increase the group’s sales in Africa,” said Ashok Thakur, in charge of Mahindra’s African business.
Nairobi’s business center is a subsidiary of Mahindra Business Africa, the Africa-focused branch which was launched in June 2015. At the launching of this Pretoria-based office, Mahindra said it would open business centers in Kenya, Nigeria and Egypt.
Already present in 20 African countries, the Indian group possesses assembly units in various countries, of which Chad, Mali, Ghana and Nigeria.
Mahindra & Mahindra hopes its new aggressive expansion strategy in Africa will help it grow its turnover across the continent tenfold by five to seven years.
