EgyptAir received an Airbus A350-900 at Cairo International Airport on Monday, Feb. 9, 2026. The aircraft is part of an order for 16 A350-900s.

The order aims to modernize the national carrier’s long-haul fleet and support new non-stop routes from Cairo to the United States and several East Asian destinations.

According to Airbus, the aircraft is configured with 30 business-class seats and 310 economy seats. It delivers a 25% reduction in fuel consumption and can operate on up to 50% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

EgyptAir aims to expand its fleet to 125 aircraft by 2030. The carrier is receiving state financing, as the government has positioned it as a key pillar of its tourism strategy through 2030, which targets 30 million visitors a year, up from about 19 million currently. Data from CAPA – Centre for Aviation show that EgyptAir carried nearly 10 million passengers in 2024.
