TY Logistics Park opens Lagos facility with 40,000-pallet capacity to modernize supply chains

TY Logistics Park FZE has opened its first logistics facility in Alaro City on the outskirts of Lagos, marking a significant step in efforts to modernize Nigeria’s supply chain infrastructure.
The privately funded integrated logistics center has capacity for more than 40,000 pallets. Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu described it as a strategic facility that can help lower operating costs for businesses, boost exports and support long-term job creation.
The warehouse provides a range of logistics services, including free-zone storage, cargo handling, inventory management, last-mile distribution, transshipment and value-added services. Its main clients are expected to come from sectors such as raw materials, agribusiness, electronics, construction, textiles and the automotive industry.
Located on a 29,000-square-meter site, the facility is strategically positioned within a fast-growing economic corridor near the Lekki deep-sea port, the Dangote refinery, new industrial zones and the future Lekki-Epe International Airport.
The launch comes at a time when inadequate storage capacity remains a major constraint on supply-chain performance across Africa. The World Bank notes that limited warehousing infrastructure is one of the region’s key bottlenecks, contributing to logistics costs that are far higher than in other parts of the world.
The challenge is particularly acute in agriculture. Available storage covers less than 30 percent of the continent’s annual production, a chronic shortfall that exacerbates post-harvest losses. Nearly 40 percent of perishable goods and about 20 percent of other food products are lost each year along supply chains.
