  • Pratt & Whitney inaugurated a $76 million aircraft engine components plant in Morocco’s Midparc industrial zone.

  • The facility will produce high-precision parts for PT6 engines and create around 200 jobs by 2030.

  • Morocco continues to expand its aerospace industry, hosting 150 companies and generating $2.85 billion in exports.

Pratt & Whitney has inaugurated a new aircraft engine components plant in Morocco, as the country continues to attract major aerospace manufacturers seeking competitive costs and skilled labor.

The U.S.-based company opened the facility on Tuesday, April 21 in the Midparc industrial zone in Nouaceur. The project required an investment of $76 million and covers an area of 12,000 square meters within the 125-hectare industrial platform located in the Casablanca-Settat region.

The plant will produce high-precision machined components, particularly for the widely used PT6 engine range. As a result, the facility will support global demand for reliable and high-performance aircraft engines.

The site is expected to create around 200 jobs by 2030. In addition, it will strengthen Pratt & Whitney’s industrial capacity to meet rising demand in the aviation sector.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Ryad Mezzour, Morocco’s Minister of Industry and Trade, praised “the group’s performance, whose engines equip tens of thousands of aircraft worldwide.” He added that “Morocco has the necessary assets to capture a significant share of this momentum, particularly in assembly and production activities.”

A Rapidly Expanding Industry

Maria Della Posta said the new facility represents “a strategic extension of the group’s industrial network, aimed at strengthening global supply chain resilience and increasing production.”

Morocco has strengthened its position in the global aerospace industry over the past two decades by integrating more deeply into global value chains. The sector currently includes about 150 companies, including major multinationals such as Airbus, Boeing, Safran, and Thales, as well as suppliers such as Lisi Aerospace, Aerolia, and Le Piston Français.

Most of these companies operate within clusters organized by the Association of Moroccan Aerospace Industries and are located in the Midparc industrial zone in Nouaceur and the Aéropole near Mohammed V International Airport. According to the Regional Investment Center of Casablanca-Settat, the sector accounted for about 26,000 jobs and 26.4 billion dirhams (approximately $2.85 billion) in exports in 2024.

The industry benefits from access to competitively priced industrial land and multiple tax incentives. It is structured around six existing ecosystems—engineering, electrical wiring interconnection, assembly, engines, maintenance and repair, and composite materials—and four emerging ecosystems, including space industry activities, higher value-added segments, cabin interiors, and landing gear systems.
