Nigeria: Ethiopian Airlines includes Kaduna in its global network

Friday, 07 July 2017 19:12

Ethiopian Airlines has said that it has concluded plans to commence a three times per week planned operation to Kaduna, Nigeria, from August 1, 2017.

Adding Kaduna, the Ethiopian national carrier operates 23 weekly flights to Nigeria’s main cities of Abuja, Lagos, Enugu and Kano.

We are pleased to commence scheduled operation to Kaduna; a fifth city in the Federal Republic of Nigeria. As a Pan-African Airline, serving our beloved continent Africa has always been a source of pride for Ethiopian Airlines. With this commitment, Ethiopian has been able to create a missing link; availing easy movement of Africans from one corner to the other. During the temporary closure of Abuja Airport for reconstruction four months ago, we were the first foreign carrier to land at Kaduna Airport,” said Tewolde GebreMariam Group CEO of Ethiopian Airlines.

Ethiopian which is the fastest growing Airline in Africa, has been flying to Nigeria since 1960.

It should be recalled that the Nnamdi Azikiwe airport in Abuja was closed for maintenance on March 8, 2017, after it got so damaged to the extent that international carriers were threatening to withdraw their services. Due to this, the government had promised to make the Kaduna Airport ready for use as substitute.
