The French government, through the French Development Agency (AFD), has approved the disbursement of €15 million to strengthen the Covid-19 response plan set up by the Egyptian authorities.
The financing agreement was signed on June 15 between the Egyptian Minister of Health, Hala Zayed, the Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation, Rania el Mashat, the French Ambassador to Egypt, Stéphane Romatet, and the Director of the French Development Agency, Fabio Grazi.
This aid from France will enable the Egyptian Ministry of Health to step up its urgent response to this health crisis, in particular through the purchase of medical and protection equipment.
The pandemic update as of June 15 reports 46,289 confirmed cases, 1,672 deaths, and 12,329 recoveries in the country.
