MTN Uganda has announced a partnership with Infobip, a Croatia-based cloud communications company, to strengthen its digital solutions offering for businesses.
The collaboration aims to integrate Infobip’s omnichannel communication capabilities into MTN’s infrastructure. This will allow companies to manage customer interactions across multiple channels—including SMS, voice, email, and messaging apps—through a single platform.
The solution will also include automation and personalization tools powered by artificial intelligence, designed to improve customer journeys and enhance engagement.
Ibrahim Senyonga, general manager of MTN Uganda’s Enterprise Business Unit, said digital communication has become central to how businesses interact with customers and deliver services. He added that the partnership will position MTN as a stronger technology partner by providing platforms that help businesses improve customer experience, increase efficiency, and unlock new growth opportunities.
The move is part of MTN Group’s broader strategy to transition toward a platform-based model that combines telecommunications, fintech, and digital services. The company has been repositioning itself as a technology player for several years, as outlined in its Ambition 2025 strategy.
By leveraging Infobip’s expertise, MTN Uganda aims to accelerate this shift while responding to growing demand from businesses for advanced digital tools. In a context of intensifying competition and rapidly evolving customer expectations, the partnership is expected to help MTN diversify its revenue streams and strengthen its role in the digital economy.
The initiative also reflects a broader trend across Africa, where telecom operators are expanding into enterprise services to capture new growth opportunities.
