Zambia and Ethiopia signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Wednesday, 10 December 2025, to strengthen cooperation in defence. The agreement follows ongoing diplomatic efforts by both governments to expand regional security partnerships.
The MoU targets military training, education, intelligence exchange and defence-industry development. Officials from both sides highlighted the scope of the agreement as a strategic step toward modernizing their security capabilities. They noted that the framework aims to deepen interoperability and foster knowledge transfer.
Both countries welcomed what they described as an important milestone that reflects their shared aspirations for peace, stability and mutual development. Authorities emphasized that stronger defence cooperation can reinforce regional security and support long-term economic objectives.
