Air Tunisia and Tunisair will collaborate in chartering, maintenance and training

Wednesday, 16 September 2015 15:22

The airline companies Air Algeria and Tunisair have just signed a framework collaboration agreement notably centring on chartering planes between the two parties, maintenance and training.

The agreement signed on 8 September by the CEO of Air Algeria, Mohamed Abdou Bouderbala, and the CEO of Tunisair, Sarah Rejeb, also includes an increase in the number of flights Algeria-Tunisia to reach 42 weekly flights as against the current 14, according to an Agence de Presse Algérienne APS official report.

The new flights will serve, in addition to the two capitals, major towns in both countries, the same source added.

The CEO of Air Algeria specified that the signature of the agreement, which occurs on the eve of the company's reorganisation and modernisation programme, will allow them to gain experience from the Tunisian public company in this domain. “Air Algeria is undertaking a deep reorganisation and is launching a modernisation and subsidiary operation programme. Tunisair already has experience in this field (chartering) which is of interest to the Algerian company”, he declared.
