FINACTU is pleased to have been chosen by the Board of Directors of the Congolese ARC insurance company to support it in its strategic thinking and in achieving its upcoming years’ financing plan.
The ARC company (Congolese Insurance and Reinsurance companies) has a quite particular place in the insurance market of the CIMA zone: it is indeed the first insurer in the area in terms of turnover, and therefore the first insurer of Congo (Brazzaville), with more than 56 billion FCFA of premiums in 2015, more than 50% of the Congolese non-life market.
Faced with increasing competition and the impact of lower oil prices, the company wants to prepare for the capital raising in order to fully meet CIMA solvency constraints. Behind this desire lies also the desire to reduce reliance on international reinsurance and enhance the profitability of the retention business.
For Parfait MAKITA, CEO of ARC, « the mission of FINACTU aims at assisting us in developing the financing plan that we need to be submitting to the CIMA anytime soon, including a capital increase, to convince our regional guardianship on our perfect solvency. We are fully aware that this exercise is also an opportunity for us to reinforce an ambitious strategy to improve our profitability, to prepare us for the insurance of tomorrow. »

But clearly, the strength of the ARC has always been a potential source of weaknesses, and it is vital for the company to strengthen its diversification, improve its selectivity and strengthen its solvency by, for instance, an opening of its capital ».
The entire « Insurance » team of FINACTU, led by Mohamed NASSET, will mobilize to carry out a detailed analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of the ARC and suggest as quickly as possible a comprehensive financing plan, backed up by an ambitious strategy of profitability strengthening.
