South Africa inflation rises to 3.6 % in October 2025

South Africa’s inflation rate rose slightly to 3.6 % in October 2025, up from 3.4 % the previous month, according to data released on November 19 by Statistics South Africa (Stats SA).

Stats SA notes that this is the highest inflation rate recorded since September 2024, when it reached 3.8 %.

Higher inflation was observed in transport, recreation, sport and culture, and alcoholic beverages and tobacco. In contrast, inflation slowed in several categories, including restaurants and hotels, as well as food and non-alcoholic beverages.
